You can state “the most underrated method” in the computers history. Unfortunately, no technology expert and an engineer would suggest you do it because they want you to come back repeatedly.

A regular user does not keep the computer software clean because they do not know how to do it for free of cost. It is a process that Windows OS user should follow and it is mandatory.

  1. Compare the first day you have used the computer and the current date. You will find a major difference in overall performance.
  2. Windows machines slow down with time, and the problem is not the hardware. Even if Windows machine bundled with high-end specifications, then the decline in performance is noticeable.

2. System Restore

I assume that your computer is up and running and you can access it. A system restore is an iconic feature from Microsoft, and you can use it on every Windows OS. On the latest edition, the company has made improvements, and you can use it to fix the problem.

Step 1: Windows + S and search for the control panel.

Step 2: In the search bar, type “system restore” and hit enter. Make sure to click on “create a restore point” under the System.

Step 3: A small window will pop-up on your screen, and click on the “system restore” to proceed.

Step 4: Now, a window will pop-up, and you no longer need other windows, close them to avoid confusion. In here, click on “next” proceed.

Step 5: In case, if any restore points are available, then select the oldest restore point, and click on “next” to proceed.

The system will begin a few moments, and remember, never interrupt the process. Be patient because sometimes it does not respond, and remains nonresponsive. However, you have to remain patient until the process finishes.

3. SFC – System File Check

Microsoft team added a function called “system file check,” and it checks the internal part of the system files. The Windows 10 comes with the advanced version, and it will fix the problem in case of corrupted files or broken files. It does help you to identify the culprit, and fix the problem in a few moments.

Step 1: Now, press Windows key + X, and select “Windows Powershell (admin)” and “Command Prompt (admin).” The Microsoft has changed the name of command prompt also known as CMD to Powershell, and that is how it is.

Step 2: Now copy and paste the “sfc /scannow” and hit enter the process. The process begins to scan your computer for bad system files, and it takes a lot of time. There are thousands of files in the system, so it will take at least thirty minutes to complete the scanning and verifying of each file.

Step 3: It should be able to solve your problem, and in case, if the functions fail, then we have other codes that you should run next. Now, you have to copy, paste the code in the command prompt or PowerShell “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth,” and make sure to restart it.

The process takes a lot of time to verify and confirm that the files are safe and working. Make sure you are not interrupting it by working in the background or unplugging the power cable.

Solution #3: Clean Install

Unfortunately, we could not fix your problem because there might be an internal issue. The reset does not work, when your computer has some major issues within the core files. It is a common issue, but you cannot risk losing the serial key product key.
